Soil is a collage series that raises from my grandfather's belongings after his death. It is a reflection on the cycle of life and death through objects that still keeping the history of the ancestors and through them, memories and discoveries are activated.
Maps found in his library are deconstructed and reconstructed on his everyday life’s papers. Envelopes, cartographic papers, mathematical studies, wrapping papers.
The reconnection of pieces, soils and forms as well as its history - immigrant who arrived at the unknown land and rebuilt his life, sewing his history.
The colors of the work were chosen with the intention of alluding to the human body in its cycle of life and death. The skin, the veins, the blood, the flesh, that decompose in death.
