The REM series explores the space between reality and dreams, inspired by the stage of sleep in which the mind is most active and dreaming occurs. REM is the connection between these two dimensions: nothing is concrete, yet everything is powerful enough to evoke emotions, shift moods, and transform patterns of thought. The surface of a timeworn bedsheet becomes a metaphor for memory, bearing the traces of lived experience. Lines, stains, and colors represent the flow of dreams and the mental and emotional reorganization that takes place during sleep. The work reveals this abstract and invisible territory, where memories, emotions, and imagination intertwine, transforming the chaos of the mind into a poetic cartography of the human experience.
